Peter Solar

Deputy Director of Programs

Peter' s participation in the Global Studies program at University of California, Santa Barbara motivated him to help fight global blindness and reduce hardships of very poor people. SEE’s work is inspiring to Peter because “our ophthalmologists not only bring down the curtain of treatable blindness, but they also restore hope, dignity, and people's place in society.”

Peter is responsible for organizing and overseeing clinics in Latin America and the Caribbean. He is fluent in Spanish, Slovak and Czech.

Kim Welton

Director of Programs Major Gifts Officer

While working in international business for eight years prior to joining the SEE staff, she traveled around the globe to remote areas such as Papua New Guinea implementing software systems.

Kim has been with SEE for four years and is reminded every day of those we are here to serve. Three years ago, she traveled to China with a surgical team, an event she calls “the most rewarding experience of my life.” After patients’ surgeries, she said the light in their eyes, expressions, contagious smiles, joy, laughter, and hugs are with her every day.
